Hi,

My friend, a UK citizen, has applied for a study permit through my CIC and received her approval, but for her 2 children and husband she has applied for visitor visa instead of OWP and SP by mistake. She has also paid the processing fee.

She asked me to help, and now the question is can we apply through the same MY cic account? if yes how? cause again, she will have to re-apply for SP (there is no other option to choose for family member apps only)

I created a new account for her husband to apply for OWP and SP, but who is has to sign the family member representative form? cause the husband does not have any approval yet?

In addition, is there any way we can refund the $300 visitor fee which has not been processed?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

u can use the same account from which previous application was filed. creating two accounts will create more confusion.

1st option) wait till refusals or acceptances come and then reapply for the required visa.
2nd option) do a case specific enquiry and ask them to either change the visa category (they usually dont agree) or cancel the pending application. then u will need to reapply.

Thank you Meagan, but I have already made a case specific inquiry, all they have said is that a UK citizen does not require a visitor visa and that's it.

On my CIC you can't just apply for your dependants, the main applicant has to apply for something, then have some dependants under her umbrella.

i thought that you applied for dependents through their own CIC accounts but now, it seems like you attached them with your application. right??

then make their own separate account and apply for the required thing.

by SP do you mean study permit??

minor children can study in school in school without study permit if:

as far as OWP (open work permit) in concerned, your spouse will need to apply for his openwork permit on the basis that you will foreign student in canada. (so needs his own account.)

i misunderstood the whole account thing.

Thanks for the advice, but one of my own friends tried the study permit app before and London office asked him for a study permit application for his 7 yrs old as well!

TC.

Hey Buddy,

another quick one: Do I have to attach the original documents to the translated versions and upload them through MY CIC? or just the translated docs are enough?

Thanks.
