Guys, could someone please confirm that listing French as your first language is not compulsory to get the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream EOI?

Is there anyone who listed English as their first language and still received the EOI?

Hello,
I've combed this forum since the first post. from the 14 members I've checked, I've found 4 forum members (included myself) with french as first language. The others might as well be having French as first language, but have not declared so in any of their posts.

Their page says:
Demonstrate a French-language level of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or above in all language competencies (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) and an English-language level of CLB 6 in all competencies with a test result from a recognized assessment institution. Acceptable tests are: IELTS (General Training Test only), CELPIP (General Test only) or TEF.
Note: the IELTS, CELPIP, or TEF tests need to be taken within 24 months of application submission to ensure the results are valid at the time of permanent residence processing.
It is stated nowhere that French has to be listed as your first language.

My English score is L: 9, R: 8, W: 7.5, S: 8.
My French score is L: 277, R: 227, W: 357, S: 414.
Unfortunately at this point I can't afford listing French as my first language as my current CRS score (which is 471) drops below 400. I consider retaking TEF later in October.
I wish there was an official statement about the policy of listing (or not listing) French as the first language.

guys just wait few days for me. I will let you know.

help plz

Guys i need help plz

Am willing to send my bro ( in canada) all my scanned documents , so that he prints them and send them to OIPNP (takes 2 days max / will take 1 week from my country)

I have a doubt about the signature in the Form :
- Can I Sign it electronically ( via the PDF form ) or should it be hand written signature ?

because am out of time ( few days left from EOI ) and I want to avoid mistakes

Sorry guys I won't be able to confirm, my score went down to 383!! Forgot about the skill transferability being affected if clb under 9 on first official language ... :-\

Hi tanit
I suggest a handwritten signature to be safe. The lack of signature has resulted in some applications being rejected or returned. just print the forms, sign them and use courier company like UPS to send them to your bro. It will be delivered between 24 and 48 hours. I did the same from South Africa to send doc to my sister in Montreal because of the difficulties I experienced in obtaining the bank draft locally and in the remaining time I had. Please just play safe.

Hi Al,

You can still get the PT notification with the CRS of 383 under the French- skilled worker stream. There is no requirement of a CRS score just that you must have an active EE profile, a CLB7 in French, a CLB6 in English, a degree and one year work experience. I have a CRS score of 321 and got at PT notification within 3 days of creating the EE profile. ( French was stated as 1st language on the EE Profile). So if you have created the new profile, we would still like to hear how it goes with PT NOI from ontario. Do not loose hope and keep us posted!
Good Luck.

Sadly this confirms my fear about French being chosen as the first language.

Oh I did not know that. I changed it back. I will change it back again! Thanks

Damocles mentioned that under 400 is not a requirement for the French stream. Change it back to french and let's see.

But in my case I have a pretty decent CRS score and hope to get an ITA when the scores go down in the end of this year/beginning of the next one.
If I change my first language to French I will have to forget about that and only hope for a notification of interest which may or may not happen.
Therefore, I will stick to English as my first language for now. I'll see how it goes...

:'( Hi All,
I noticed that in this stream(French Skill Workers), there are not many applicants on the forum to share their experiences and application progress and challenges . So I decided to collect info from other threads and compile a list ( French skilled workers still waiting for nomination from Ontario) to try and show a picture of the application progress and timelines. I know the list is not exhaustive. So far I found info on this other thread(http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/oinp-french-speaking-skilled-worker-stream-timeline-question-t436810.0.html) . I thought it would be nice to combine all the applicants on this list.
Aishach, You are keeping a whats app group. Will you be able to share the info from that group and update the list?

So far here is what I have gathered:

That's great Damocles!
I'll provide you with any updates as soon as it happens. For the time being my application is still trotting around the globe :D . I sent it on Friday, it spent half of Saturday in UAE and the other half in Frankfurt, Germany. It spent part of today in Leipzig, Germany and has now reached Cincinnati. Funny keeping track of the parcel ;D

Good luck to us all, and eagerly awaiting the 1st nomination in the French Stream!
