Ontario Photo ID card

Hii,

I want to apply for Ontario Photo ID card for a purpose. I have read on the website that i have to surrender my driver’s license (didn’t mention specific foreign/other provinces). I have a Quebec driver license. So is it compulsory to give up my Quebec driver license?

NB: I will be completing my 2 years driving experience on Quebec license in few months. So want to wait few months for license exchange, since i can get full G license.

can anyone shed some light here?

Why do you need a photo ID card when you have your Quebec license that you will be exchanging for an Ontario one.
