Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what could be repercushion of changing my NOC code (2134 Chemical Engineers) to something similar (2112 Chemists) now when I have already received Letter-of-Interest from Ontario province under Human Capital Stream (CRS=448), which I am very much interested in applying for within next 45 days???

Please help me, Thanks,

At maximum, your profile can become in-eligible.

Go ahead and change without any repercushions. Make sure it matches your reference letter.

No issues here, but once you send to OINP you shouldnt change it again

All excellent replies. All are on point. To recap: (a) the worse that can happen is OINP will throw your application out (not very likely but still, yeah, this is a possibility); (b) changing the NOC is fine as long as your work experience letters match the duties and responsibilities of the NOC you're claiming now; (c) OINP will be okay with different than what you entered in your EE profile, provided your OINP application meets their minimum requirements (which includes, among others, >400 CRS).

Let me add one more thing. There seem to have been instances (based on my lurking on this forum too much, mind you, not personal experiences) where provinces have changed the NOCs when they send nomination confirmations to CIC. So that's a possibility. The key to what One_Topsy is saying is: once (and I'm sure you will) get your PNP, you should not change to another NOC in your ITA forms. However, any discrepancies (if any) among your EE profile NOC to your PNP application NOC to your PNP nomination certificate NOC can be explained in a LOE. I am confident that CIC officers will be amenable to reasonable explanations if NOC changes are within the same field.

In sum, I think the above answers should be helpful. If not, write again and the more knowledgeable members will surely respond. Best wishes to you.
