Friends Today, I received a Cheque from CIC ( CAD$ 1100 ) Which is Fees Refund of my Previous Application Which is Terminated Due to Jobs, Growth and Long-term Prosperity Act that became law on June 29, 2012. ( Simplified Application Process ).

I can imagine what is your next question , So the Reply is : I filled Online PDF form and Sent that to CIC for fees Refund for Pre Feb 2008 FSW Cases in Nov 2012 and I got this Cheque after 3.5 months.

Cool, Congrats. :D did that came via normal post ?

One of my friends recieved an email requesting for RPRF. Weird because my friend has not yet received an MR.

Hi pradeeshma and others from NDVO.

I would like to how long it takes to get MR for PR as if it takes long time might think of WP as need to land before winter starts there.

I have also sent online PDF form for refund before 3 weeks. Let's see when they can refund.

Hi Rp_TP
So far no one from NDVO under the FSW Back log pilot Category has reported in the forum abt MR for PR. No one has got the Second AOR aswell from NDVO.
I applied for OWP on 4-Jan and received Medicals on 16-Feb. After that back to BAU. Waiting...
Medicals for OWP is valid for PR aswell (12 months validity). So far thats the only +ve thing abt it

@ Hadeel1234 ,

It is a New Cheque, Bearing Today's Local currency conversion equivalent of 1100 CAD $ .

See no point in getting old cheque back because that cheque is not valid anymore as money got deducted from our account at that point of time in Year 2007.

So once you get any payment credit back it should come as a new Cheque / Demand Draft ( DD) or Online transfer to our Bank Account or Credit Card .

In case CIC returns any application back withing 3-4 months of application then they send old cheque / DD back because they have not encashed that cheque.

Just imagine if they send us old cheque back then you are at loss because at that point of time Currency Conversion rates were very low, so e.g you paid 40,000 and now you are getting back 60,000 of your local currency , at least you are getting back any benefit of currency appreciation.

Thanks O_Canada for this very detailed answer , one more question please , I have decided not to apply for a refund now , I prefer to do this procedure after landing to Canada , so is there any risk of doing this ?

Well if you do not apply for refund then at some point of time CIC might initiate refund process from their end. In that case I believe they will send you a letter confirming your Mailing Address and to whom this payment cheque should be sent. So in case you wanna wait , then u can wait .

I can understand that u might be looking forward to have an address in Canada and then apply for this refund because there might not be a person available at your current address to collect this cheque in case you move to Canada by that time.

Hi All;
Did anyone get open work permit and Temporary residence visa?
How long is the visa duration?
Did they provide you with a letter for work permit issuance? if yes ... is there is an expiry date for that letter?
Thank you in advance for your assistance in answering my inquiry.
