Hi Everyone:
I applied to migrate to Canada more than 2 years ago with Canada High Commission in Singapore. It seems the process takes longer time.
To expedite the process, and because I'm a teacher, I applied with Ontario College of Teachers. After almost 2 years of producing and sending documents, OCT accepted my application and now I am eligible to teach in Ontario. To complete the registration, however, I must be in Canada.
I have received a conditional job offer for occasional teachers. I don’t know whether this helps.

Can anyone advise on what I can do to hasten the processing of my permanent residence application?

Send your letter for your occasional job offer and it will be approved or not. Nothing can hasten your PR. But a well filled out form and paying the immigration fees all upfront..does help in saving time.

All depends also what kind of teacher you are and do try to get a permanent job because I maybe wrong but just an occasional job offer may not be accepted as an occasional job would suffice to care for your needs, unless you can prove you have lots of money to help you until you get a full time job.

I would apply where a teacher is needed and no one wants to go there, like the great up north, and then after a year, you could apply to move somewhere else.

Apply to go to a remote area in Canada and you would have a better chance. Like going to where native children are in need of a teacher..its cold so not many want to go in the great north.
