Hi PV,

I'm not in the US, but I'm in Canada and we all filed to the same visa office in Buffalo. To answer your question, I filed my application in full to Buffalo and they received on June 4, 2009. I received by mail on June 12th, a letter dated June 10th (AOR) which has a new file number different from the file number I received from Sydney CIO. In short, Buffalo sent me a letter 6 days after they received my application.

Are you just about to send yours? Buffalo sends out AORS quite fast, usually within the first 10 days, if not the first week. You can track waiting times better on trackitt.com.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Yes I am planning to send my docs to Buffalo. Actually just waiting for the IELTS exam result.
Hopefully I should send all doc not later than 2nd week of july.

Good luck.

I was wondering...does it mean that the entire application fee (Principal applicant + spouse = children) has to be sent to Sydney (CIO)...and must this be alongside the proof of funds as well?
Thanks!

yes, provided the whole family is applying then the application fee for all.

Applied in April/May 2009 under FSW , still waiting for the File Number....

Any thoughts on this.....

If its April, then its taking too long. Email CIO Sydney and see what they say.

James, I am not sure why CIC has not even send u the AOR no#, it should not take this much time. betn have u sent app to CIC or CIO Sydney NS ??

If u have sent app to CIC after recieving approval from CIO Sydney NS then try contacting CIC
CIC Fax# 716-858-9591
CIC Email - buffalo-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

Mention u r name ,DOB and file no# which u have from CIO Sydney

Good Luck

I am planning to submit the application in next few days to sydney... have some questions. can you please help

1) i know police verification is not needed right now, but when is a good timeto start the same?

2) similarly for college certificates, i dont think my college(in india) is going to send me anything, least a sealed transcript, unless i personally go there and beg them thrice a day for a week. what are u guys doing ?

3) Most important: What if i need to leave USA before they complete my processing ? what then hell will happen in that case?

1) Look to see how long it takes to get the PCC in each country that you have lived in and work it backwards from 120 days (giving some leaveway) and that should tell you whether you should apply early or not.

2) Get someone else to beg for you over there? Do you have relatives there? I am not from india so should rather wait for an indian to answer this.

3) Then you can ask to be transfered to ND visa office, which they probably won't do under the new rules (i dont know this for sure) and when it comes to stamping, you cannot send your passport by mail from india so you might have to come to the US to get the stamp or if called for an interview.

Remember, you can apply through ND too which seems to be going faster than Buffalo.
