I have a slightly unusual job and I'm unsure whether I'm allowed to continue it while I'm overseas. I'm an Australian citizen who creates videos and livestreams on an American platform called Twitch. They are not my employer, but it is my source of income. I'm planning on going on exchange to Canada in 2022, and if possible I would like to continue this work while I'm there. All the other requirements (enrolment, study program, SIN etc.) are able to be met, and I can fit my work into the allowed 20 hours-per-week, but I'm just unsure if I am even allowed to do this work under this permit considering the guidelines refer to an 'employer' (which I don't have), and it's not strictly a Canadian job. Would this even classify as Canadian work?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
