Online vs Paper Application

Is it better to apply for a visa online or via paper based?

I think it largely depends on your country. From what I have seen, Countries where bio metrics are mandatory should avoid online as they it is advisable for them to send a lot of additional documents- a luxury which you can't afford in online applications. Paper based for countries with bio metrics. And online where it is not required.

from my experience it's better to apply online. I've applied paper base on 31st july and still i'm awaiting the decision.
Many has applied online after 31st august and they have got the response withing a week or maximum of two.
opt for online and i assure you that you'll give me +5. cheers in advance.

I have applied online in Saudi on june 28th, till this day my application is still under processing. My brother decided to apply through paper based in june 11th I believe, it took him 7 day to get his passport and canadian visa approved. You can never know.

I applied paper based and got visa approval mail in 5 working days! Bangalore Visa Office.

Hi, I am Indian and I applied online on July 25th. I have not yet heard back from them and I even had to defer my admit till Jan 2015. I have tried contacting CHC through e-mail, but I received no response. I heard that processing times are maximum of three weeks, but it has already been three months since I applied online!

Just got admission from Carleton uni for JAN - 15 intake, I have few questions appreciate if you guys can answer.

1. I have 10 week left for a visa is that enough or should I defer my admission for next term.
2.Do we need to submit orignal degree for online visa application as well or just a scan copy??

Just got an email from CIC saying "Your application has been updated" but when I login to CIC , no update..is is technical error or some kind of prank...anybody got da same ?
