Hey there,
I've got a bit of a random question that I have no idea how to find out the answer.
While I was in Canada on my IEC permit, I started getting a lot more into graphics design and lettering. I've recently been getting into creating fonts for sale that can be purchased online.
However, my IEC has run out and I'm currently here as a temp resident, waiting to start working again on a TWP when it comes through.
I know that I am unable to work for an employer outside of the one who applied for my TWP, but how does online sales such as the fonts I've been creating work?
Obviously, I want to pay tax on it and do everything legally, I'm not interested in breaking the law here; but I have no idea how it works with something like that, as I'm not taking work from a Canadian given that it isn't commision based work.

Does anyone have any information on the legal side of creating online content that you can profit from?
Like is it possible to file that tax under something I don't know about?
Does it have to be registered to my home country and pay tax to there?

I don't know....

Thanks,
Joe

You can sell stuff online as long as you are not selling to Canadians or anyone living in Canada. Your sales have to be limited to individuals outside of Canada.

Oh yeah? Thank you for the reply! are you able to link me to some information about the legalities of that? I would love to read more but I have no idea how to look it up lol.
And would I be paying Canadian tax or my home country tax?
