Exactly. As far as I can tell, the online test through oath workflow seems to be working fairly well from a user stand point. If there’s not too much of a bottleneck issue behind the scenes, the IRCC will hopefully be able to start increasing the number of invites being sent out.

One thing that I think they could improve upon is communication. Even just a small update saying:

“We are still in the pilot phase. Once we have finished this, we will post an update.”

would be good. It would help a little bit with the stress that we all going through. It’s not getting any info and not having a very clear idea what is happening that is huge cause of many people’s anxieties which is understandable.

Everyone, take a deep breathe and hang in there! Good thoughts to all of you!
Not sure who told me but they remember reading somewhere that the pilot was way better than IRCC expected & they're continuing it.

And I agree, IRCC could do a better job of keeping their applicants updated. I guess I will chalk it up to bureaucracy at every level.

I understand we're in unprecedented times & anxiety / stress always can sometimes get the best of us. All we can do is be positive.

I think it all can be boiled down to having patience. Who knows if the vaccine situation improves in next few months & things start picking up in spring / summer?

We should all be patient & keep faith in the system.

Indeed. Be positive and let's hope for the best.

All the very best to you.

I can definitely take the advice specially from someone who has been waiting since July 2019. That's 18 months !
I have been waiting since January 2020 and thinking that some people who applied in 2019 are still waiting makes me sad. They should definitely start to communicate more. People came to this country with hopes and dreams. The Covid situation doesn't make it easy but some people like me would be ok with just knowing where things are, just to be able to sleep better and plan ahead.
Stay strong everyone.

Yeah, not fun for most people, covid really screwed up the timeline. It’ll eventually happen for everyone. It finally did for me. :)

The upside of all this, is that they have now built a pretty solid online workflow which is a good thing.

I guess calling on patience equals to calling many people immature. The "impatience", as you suggest it, of many of us maybe is coming from a very legitimate place. Just maybe. Just as an example, your case may very well be urgent for all sort of reasons but what IRCC accepts as Urgent Processing is discretionary, with very hard to attain pre-requisites (arguably it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle).

Hello,

Need a little help please.

My wife just got the test invite between the 5th of February and the 25th of February.

The test has to be done in Canada. That much is clear from the letter. We are currently overseas and need to be with family due to a personal tragedy Does the applicant have to be In Canada for the oath?

Thank you.

Yes, they have to be in Canada for both the test and the oath.

Yes. What is the visa office? Can you share timelines..

In case if you are considering rescheduling, here is the post from other user who got first invite in Nov 2019. Still waiting for the second test invite. My friendly advice is to not to reschedule test.

"April 2018 applicant here...Received my first invite to test in November 2019 but couldn't make it because I was out of the country. Asked them to reschedule immediately and received no response ever since. Has anyone received the online invite from Scarborough? I think I'm really screwed over, if the criminal check expires in a year, wouldn't they have to re-do it for me?"

Fly back to Canada ASAP if possible and do the test. Rescheduling with IRCC always took time even before Covid.
