Hi guys! I also jumped out of my seat when I saw my passport request email today. Upon reading it, I immediately printed it out and rushed to VFS Office to submit my passport! Isang malaking THANK YOU LORD!!!

If you're looking for tickets, I suggest that you buy them during off-peak hours, yung mga 2pm or 12mn... Naka-chempo ako kahapon, 1173 one-way business class via PAL! Mas mura pa sa economy, which was already priced at 1180 something. Regardless of getting a student permit or not, I'll be going to Canada anyway to visit my sister so I bought it na, rebookable naman.

@Humdrumdum Gusto ko nga sana PAL para direct flight na to Vancouver then a domestic flight to Calgary kaya lang namamahalan na ako sa 1,200 na pamasahe. My brother who works in Etihad said he can book me tickets to Toronto via Abu Dhabi at discounted rates. Less than half of PAL's costs kaya kahit 24hrs ang flying time ok na rin basta makatipid.

Hala, nakakapagod po ang biyaheng ganun Natry ko na po yung 26 hrs travel time via Korean Air na MNL-ICN-YVR... Ang alis po ay 12mn from manila, darating sa Incheon ng 5AM. You can go out of the airport and explore without a transit visa, so since 4PM pa ang flight ko, I met up with some friends in Seoul. Then around 11hrs ang flight to Vancouver, pagdating ko sa Canada, sobrang bangag nako! Wala pang ligo whatsoever hahahaha

Kung MNL-AUH-YYZ tapos mag-plane pa kayo to Calgary, mahihirapan po talaga kayo kasi mas malapit ang Calgary from Vancouver; 4 hrs mahigit ang flight ng Toronto to Calgary. From Vancouver, 1 hour na lang po by plane, half the price pa ng YYZ-YYC; or if you really want to be economical, 14 hrs by bus ang Vancouver to Calgary via GreyHound @ roughly $100.

Na-curious po ako kaya chineck ko ang itinerary via Etihad, abutin po kayo ng 33 hrs travel time + 4 hrs to Calgary ... That's 1.5 days :O Hapung-hapo na po kayo pagdating niyo sa Calgary haha

Humdrumdum: Depende din kasi ang available seats sa Etihad so pwede din ako magtransit and have a little tour in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. Bahala na ang kapatid ko sa iterinary ko. TThSa lang kasi and AUH-YYZ. Tapos sa Toronto, magsight-seeing muna ako for 4-5 days before going to Calgary. Hehehe! So may possibility na hindi naman tuloy-tuloy ang travel ko.

I can't believe how similar we are DocRz! My sister is working in Qatar Airways and I'm also planning on booking a flight to Toronto via Qatar Airways or any flight accredited by them since discounted! Haha

Question to you both (Humdrum): Can we go to Canada past the date of the school entrance date without affecting much of our status sa point of entry? D ba kasi student permit natin makukuha plng dun. :

msladybug. As far as I know, wala Doha-Toronto flights ang Qatar Airways. Montreal ang nag-iisang city na sinereve nila, unless it's a new route. Meaning from Montreal, may isa pang flight either with AirCanada or Westjet to Toronto.

I'm not sure if hindi maaapektuhan ang issuance ng student permit kapag late ka na dumating despite having the visa ahead of time. Pwede siguro tanungin ka kung bakit late ka na for your classes.

Wow ang saya nyo naman, pa-tour-tour rin pag may time... HAHA Ginawa ko lang nun sa Seoul is nag-shopping sa MyeongDong kasi mas mura ang pang-lamig sa Korea hahahaha

@DocRZ: does this mean though that you'll be issued your study permit in Toronto? Or do you have a valid visitor's visa already?

@msladybug: I'm not sure kung included sa Letter of Introduction ang start of class... I might be more worried about the school though, sakin kasi kailangan by September 3 nandun na talaga ako kasi required ang orientation. Our class starts on September 4, the orientation is the day before. I think Immigration will be more lenient about the entrance date if you have your reasons, I don't know about your school... Lalo na kung university since they seem to be more strict about deadlines...
