I found a shop that makes Melton Mowbray pork pies. I took one into work with a jar of Branstons.....no one would touch it....LOL...WIMPS!

Although they do all adore my Scotch eggs but are very puzzled about the 'scotch' bit.

My partner adores Leicester cheese....my brother send it to us...packaged as wooden ornaments....always gets through customs and still costs half of what it would buying it here. But what I really miss is the chip van.

I lived in a village and every Wednesday the chip van would pull up and we all ran out to get dinner. OMG how I miss British fish and chips.

Mmmmmm...chips...
There is a place in Worthing (near Brighton) and there is a shop there that has won awards, they are so good. We went there 3 times in our last week in the UK!!!

FWIW There are numerous chip / poutine vans in North bay.
Three locations that I know of, no doubt there are more.

There are lots of chips vans and fish and chip shops here in Toronto, but they just aren't as good as England. I am going to England tomorrow for a visit and I am going to eat lots of proper chip shop chips, and I might even have chip shop curry sauce mittens!
You guys must think I'm huge! All I ever talk about is food haha!

I know what you mean about the taste of the chips.

I don't do curry sauce or mushy peas - hot chips and malt vinegar (that is another Canadian difference).

Top of my list is Rock (sometimes called huss) in beer batter and chips, all swimming in vinegar.

Visiting England, make sure your case is empty, ready for all the food on the return trip :)
