Hi,

My girlfriend from South Korea has a student visa ending in December 2013. She wants to visit Canada in Nov 2013. Since there is only one month left on the student visa, and she can come in for 6 months at a time under a visitor visa, can she just rip out the student visa paper from her passport and enter in as a visitor?

Thanks

ahh exactly!! u rip it off and booommm... no one would ever know abt it!! LOLLL!! u know they have everything stored on servers right? They STORE information just for LATER USE u know right?? Plz dont do anything stupid, just play by the rules.. consult some senior, cic website or email them! They should be some better alternative to ripping off paper.

She should definitely not rip anything out. She has two options:

1. She could enter on her student visa normally and after she is inside Canada, apply to change her status to visitor

OR

2. She could talk to the immigration officer when she enters about not needing the student visa any more and wanting to enter as a visitor. They will then either invalidate her student visa, that is, they are the ones that rip it out and let her enter as a visitor or they tell her to do 1.
