Hi, I have question. When I flag pole to activate my permanent residency does my current work visa expire?
I still didn't get pr yet but I wanted to go on a trip outside Canada in 2 months. Was just wondering if I get pr in the mean time if my current visa than expires once I flag pole. Because it takes some time for the pr card to arrive. Read something like that in one of the forums but never thought about it. Thanks for your help.

All visas and work permits are theoretically void as soon as you become a PR. Do not assume that you could use one for travel.

Just came back from the border and asked CBSA .They said the work permit does not expire but they confiscate your WP because PR do not need work permits. They shred them.So whethet it is expired or not is irrelevant because they are destroyed
