Hi all,

I received a Notification of Interest from Ontario 2 days ago.
I already have a CRS score of 499 (FSW) and I know that FSW / CEC draws will resume in early July.

Any opinions about if it is better to proceed with the OINP or just wait for it to resume and get an invitation when the cut-off drops to below 500?

Thanks in advance!

My suggestion - Go for CEC - FSW....After NOI you have 45 days to submit application (oinp) so wait for CEC draw.

@phs928 I got the invitation too.
I'm CRS 549 and in July I can be CEC so I'll be 575+ in score.
All my documents are already prepared. I have been advised to wait for July 6th, if no all-program draw, better go with the PNP.

But looking at your score, I may think that you should go for the PNP now.

In previous memo, IRCC said they would be back with generic draw of a size similar to pre-covid, so around 3000 per draw.
There is currently 8000 people in the EE pool with score between 500 and 600.
So, even if they start to draw on July 6th, you would probably have to wait at least for the 3rd draw to happen. But this is not hard proof yet that it will happens on July 6th.

If I were you, I would take the PNP.

Did Ontario cunduct any draws because I don't see it on their website. Was it tech draw ?

All I personally know about the draw is that it is French targeted. From different sources, it seems that it is French + Tech.
But yeah, no post on their website, there is a banner saying they don't update currently because of Provicincial election or something like that.

One question !

Why would you go for the PNP route when you already have a score of 549 ?

You will most likely be in the first draw in July.

I strongly believe it will start again in July, but I've been waiting literally since January 2021 for an FSW draw. And it didn't happened yet.
I will wait July 6th and if I don't have a draw, I'll go for the PNP. Better be safe than sorry.

The minister has confirmed that there will be a draw next week, so I believe you would be one of the first people to receive an ITA in that round.

Good luck !

Yeah I'm following the news. He said that he aims for it so it's not 100% sure. I trust IRCC but also I don't claim victory until it really happens :)

That's why I'm waiting for July 6th before answering to the OINP NOI. If I got the draw on this day, then I can save a little bit of money and processing time.
