Hi,

I just received a "Confirmation of Nomination" from IRCC after 438 days under the OINP Master Stream!

My PGWP will expire around August 2026. Once I submit my PR application, do I need to apply for a work permit extension, or can I continue working because I’ve already applied for PR?

I’d also like to ask if it is okay to return to my home country while waiting for the decision on my PR application. Would this violate any rules? I plan to update my address and use my relative’s address so that documents such as the PR card can be sent there. That said, I would need to give up my job here if I return home.

You need to apply for BOWP if you want to work past August 2026. You can return to Canada if you have a valid TRV and can work if your BOWP is approved. PR processing is about 16 months.

Understood. Let's say I won't work past my PGWP validity. Is it okay if I'll wait for my PR application result in my home country?

Yes. Not a job offer stream. No need to return.

I have a couple of questions again:

1. In my PR application, should I use my relative’s address as both my residential and mailing address if I plan to leave Canada and wait for my PR outside Canada? Or should I use my home country’s address as my residential address and my relative’s address as my mailing address?

2. Do I need to inform IRCC that I will be returning to my home country?
