I didn't write N/A, but put a long slash mark (top to bottom) on the irrelevant sections.

I don't think they are that crazy with the minor details... depends on the officer I guess.

If you have somehow indicated that the section does not apply to you, they you might be okay but they ARE strict - even with the minor details. They HAVE returned applications of applicants who have not written "N/A" or anything for that matter but just left the sections blank.

They are seeing if mandatory feels that doesnt apply to you has not been marked with N/A. If the field was not marked with the asterix and u left it blank dont worry your fine.
 
I agree. I called to ask.

It's the mandatory fields with red asterix that are required (if applicable for the most part).

For example I left the field "state/province" blank since I dont have it in my address in my home country...
even though it has an asterix.

I called and they said it should be fine.

I think they are applying common sense and logic, so dont worry guys.
