OINP e-Filing: Change of application status

Hi there,

OINP appli status just changed from "submitted" to "assessment". Any one knows what this means exactly in terms of application progress? How long does it take from here to DECISION?

So far there's no firm indication anywhere that I have been able to find on how long their assessment of the e-filed applications will take. Their website Q&A gives this and some other general info as the response to the question on how long it will take to process applications: 'Our focus at this time is to implement changes to our business processes to expedite processing while maintaining rigorous standards. Once this work has been completed, we will be in a position to develop new benchmarks and metrics.'

From other posts on this forum I can see that for the paper filed applications submitted in December 2016, some Nominations were issued early March 2017. I'm hoping this means the e-filed ones will process in a shorter time frame. Hope this helps to answer your question.
By the way how long did it take for your application to go from Submitted to Assessment?

This helps a lot.. thanks. It took one full month for the status to change from submited to assessment. Given the fact that December applicants have only recently been nominated, I think I might hear from OINP in not less than a month from now.
