OHIP while waiting on PR

Hi,

I was interested to know if there is anyway I can help my wife get OHIP while her outland application is being processed in Paris.

She was here on an Open work permit, but it has just expired on April 4th. We applied in mid-March to extend her status here as either a visitor or on another OWP. I assume the OWP will be declined thus why we applied for a visitor visa as well.

It's a bit of an odd situation because shes living here with me in Ontario, but shes from Spain which is visa exempt for visiting here.

Any suggestions while we wait on answers from the CIC?

Basically you need her to apply for OHIP, get a form saying she was rejected, and then appeal through the OERC which will contact the Paris visa office directly to determine as of what date she's eligible for OHIP.
