OHIP extension (covid era)

Hello all,

My previous permit was going to expire by the end of July of this year (and hence my current health card); I applied for an extension and received the new permit this week. Now I am not sure whether my health card will be valid next month or I need to extended its validity, According to the ServiceOntario website, the expiration date has been extended until new notice. Source

Extended expiry date

You may not need to renew your product(s) at this time.

Products that expired on or after March 1, 2020, have an extended expiry date until further notice. We will notify you when it is time to renew.

This includes your:

• licence plate sticker
• driver’s licence
• health card

Does it also apply to temporary workers? In short, can I still use my current health-card until they update the policies?

Pretty sure the link you attached is for those who have a routine renewal of OHIP after 5/10 years like drivers license. Think you should call or go to Service Ontario and see if you can renew.
