OHIP application

I recently got my work permit and I only have a part time job as a medical office administrator. Is it necessary that we have a full time job to apply for ohip. what if do find one, does that mean that I can never apply for OHIP? Is there any alternative?

Seems you need a full-time job:

Only other alternative that I know of is private insurance.
