OHIP Application

Hi,

I am moving permanently to Ontario from outside Canada. Given that there is a 3 months wait time for OHIP, I am planning to apply for OHIP as soon as I arrive. I know that one of the application requirements is a document that displays the name and current home address. However, I plan to stay the first two months in an extended stay hotel until I find a place to rent.
What should I do in this case?

Thank you.

There is no reason to apply as soon as you arrive. Just apply sometime closer to the end of 3 months waiting period, when you have a permanent address established and one of the required proofs.
The 3 months waiting period will date back to the date you landed in Ontario, not when you apply for OHIP.

Similar question. My spouse is going to land in Ontario next month (August 2018) and as I understand her record of landing is the date when she established a residency in Ontario. How about our child, Canadian citizen, who moves in with her at the same date ( from USA). What proof needed that he becomes the resident of Ontario as well?

Right, but I am driving them to Windsor (land entrance) by car and our child is entering Canada as Canadian (dual citizen) without any stamps anywhere. What kind of proof of moving to Canada the child can possibly get?
