That offer letter is one of the more ridiculous ones to be posted here in awhile. It's very poorly written and nonsensical in some aspects. One example is that the letter says that you will receive a handbook and given a job description after one month of "training induction" (a bit of an odd turn of phrase in itself). So, they are saying you are hired at $11.5k per month, with a host of other benefits, but you have to wait a month to be told what it is that you have been hired to do. How silly is that? Here's how worded at one point:
There will be no interview in Canada but job description shall be made known to you after the training period of | month.
I don't see $11.5k per month as out of line, given that the job is, apparently, for a 6-day work week, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with an hour lunch break (I think that's what's meant by the nonsensical "8.00am to 1pm in the morning and from 2pm to 6pm in the evening". I say nonsensical because I think a child would recognize that 1 p.m. is not in the morning.
The provision to you of "an official vehicle" on a "24 hour daily basis" is a nice touch. I trust that includes a driver. And the provision of free accommodation and international cuisine is comforting.
The letter being signed by the "Minister of Employment and Social Development" certainly lends an air of authenticity and the signature of the "Director of Apprenticeship" suggests some interesting possibilities. Maybe after a month of "training induction" they will decide you are best suited to be an apprentice mechanic or other tradesperson.
I am also mildly curious about the fact that the Toronto-based employer is showing area code 613 and not 416 for Toronto. A google search turned up a website for a company of that name, with contact shown as:
ADDRESS
22 St. Clair Avenue East, Suite 1200, Toronto, ON M4T 2S3
PHONE
(416) 646-3514
Anyway, thanks to the OP for an entertaining break in my day.
