I will keep this simple.
PR since I was a kid (due to parents) never applied for citizenship. Anyway I got a greencard because of my American wife, due to a spouse you can get US citizenship in 3 years and have to live there 18 months out of those 36, I was able to do that and recently became a US citizen. I have also not violated Canadian PR residency rules because you only have to live here 2 of out the last 5 years which I have.
So my PR card is valid (need to renew it next year). I am back in Canada for a few years, not sure how long.
Now my question is since I became a US citizen I am no longer a citizen of my former country (it does not allow dual and you lose it automatically), but my PR card says a citizen of XXX (the country I lost citizenship in). I need to renew my pr card next year and was wondering would I tell them then? Should I tell Canada now? Will they care?
Kind of confusing.
