Hi all,

I had my test completed in July, but my background is still in progress. Is there anyone in the same boat? I am wondering why? Any thoughts? Montreal office.

Hi, I don’t think anyone could give a trend here but what I can say is that MTL seems abit slower in general, I recently got an email from MTL requesting copies of passports but no update on my tracker. Keep checking your email and spam just in case.

funny you say that I became PR in 2019 but my PR application tracker was showing in progress up until last May! I logged in a few days ago to check some dates in my application and noticed it was changed to approved in May 2022 even though I became PR in 2019 lol
I guess the officer who looked at my citizenship file flipped it to finalized as my PR officer had forgotten to do so...

You had your bakground completed. I had my test in July and my background is still in progress.

I saw here on the post that for some applicants test could be taken before BGC is complete. Also we have all been almost 10 months in the process. So whether my BCG is complete or not, all other elements of my app are still in progress -- and processing time is 26 months. So again what to do other than to wait and CHILL??!!! This is not a competition! I hope everyone will get their citizenship and enjoy being Canadian. At the end of the day!

Just finished my citizenship test as well, passed with 19/20 score so relieved!

my timeline:
Application - October 26, 2021
AOR - January 20,2022
Citizenship test invitation - July 29,2022
Passed - August 22, 2022

Does anyone here know how the tracker behaves for the application of a Minor submitted with the parent?

In my family, all the adults have all items completed (except citizenship ceremony) and ECAS shows 'decision made'.
However, for the one minor in the family, 'Language Skills' and 'Physical Presence' are 'In Progress' and Citizenship test is 'Not Started'.
All these items do not apply to the minor (no physical presence requirement since applying with the parent).
Also, ECAS still shows 'In Process' instead of 'Decision Made'.

Does anyone know or have seen how the minor application gets to 'decision made'? Does the app-tracker show the not-applicable items as 'in progress' or 'completed' or something new such as 'Not applicable'?

It's normal mine is just like you, I got DM but my son's tracker was still showing everything is In Progress. But we both received the oath ceremony invitation at the same time, even though his tracker still shows that everything is in progress.

Happy to share that we have completed the Oath ceremony this morning. With this, the process completes and we are officially Canadian effective today!
