Thanks, I received email only nothing updated on the tracker except some ghost updates.

did you send any webform or replied to their email that you submitted the fingerprints?

I called them to let them know that I submitted fingerprints.
I think you can’t reply to the email, I didn’t send any webform.
You just have to wait for RCMP to deliver the FP results to IRCC Office.

Vancouver office
I’m also from Edmonton office and have got my FP request on July 20th from Vancouver CIC, and submitted FP electronically to RCMP on the same day, but it looks like IRCC haven’t not received my fingerprints yet, atleast there’s no update in tracker as of now.

Wait until the end of next week generally it takes 2-3 weeks. And last weekend was long weekend so, probably next Tuesday, Wednesday you might see some update.

Hopefully, I did send an email to RCMP this afternoon to see if they could provide an update on my application status, should’ve waited until end of next week as you said.

Thanks @hpatel08 for your response, appreciate it!!

For me it was 9 days.

Since my update of 'Test - 'Completed'' the following are still 'In Progress':
* Physical Presence
* Prohibitions
* Language Requirements

The following is 'Not Started':
* Citizenship Ceremony

** Eagerly awaiting for the next steps

Grateful for anyone who can answer this question:
* I have seen some people say it has gone from 'Test Completed' to receiving an Oath and others say after the Test - 'Completed' you get a request for a Fingerprint (FP) Check.

What determines if you go straight to the Oath invitation; or if you get a request for a FP check?
In my case I have been living and working in Canada since I submitted my application and will not leave Canada for a vacation until I have my Canadian passport.

Thanks to anyone who replies.

And last weekend was long weekend.
It wasn't a long weekend for IRCC. Civic holiday is not a federal holiday and is not even statutory holiday provincially in many provinces. I called IRCC that day and spoke to an agent. They were working.

That being said, it is likely a good number of the staff was on vacation that day.

Your name determines whether you will get Fingerprints or not.

Fingerprints are requested to clear an applicant of any reasons as detailed in section 21 and 22 of Citizenship Act. I have summarised these below:

- Section 21 does not allow for any time spent by an applicant under imprisonment, parole or probation in Canada to be counted towards physical presence. So IRCC is checking your fingerprints to make sure none of the 1095 days towards your eligibility overlaps with these.

- Section 22 prohibits grant of citizenship to anyone who is currently serving a sentence of imprisonment, parole or probation. This includes any sentence being served outside Canada with a caveat being that offence constituting as one by Canadian law.

- Section 22 also prohibits grant of citizenship to anyone who has been convicted of an offence in the 4 years prior to application date. Note that, again, convictions outside Canada count so long as the offence is considered an indictable offence according to Canadian law. This includes acts of terrorism, war crimes, genocide, crimes against humanity etc. It covers a lot.

- Notably, Section 22 also states that any direct or indirect misrepresentation of withholding of information by the applicant that hinders the administration of the act prohibits grant of citizenship (Relevant to this section, I read this as changing identity or not informing IRCC of past convictions).

Basically IRCC is collecting your fingerprints to verify your identity and make sure you do not meet any of these conditions that prohibits grant of citizenship to you.

Travel has nothing to do with it, and you are free to leave Canada for vacation after submitting your application and before getting approved, without worries. The only thing is you will need to return to Canada for oath. You are usually given ample notice for the oath, and returning to Canada for it is not usually an issue. If you are away for months, then you can ask for it to be rescheduled.

Mine took almost a month so I'm assuming it varies from applicant to applicant. Good luck!
