I have just received an email "Notice to appear for interview" in person. I had no idea they resumed the in person interviews.

Congratulations. Happy for you after this anguish. Hopefully the oath is soon for you as well.
Thank you. I sincerely appreciate all your support over the past months. :) Also, I just realized that you had your oath in January. Congrats! Hope all is going well in MTL

Could you please advise how much was the quote? also what Immigration office was your file in? Congratulation on the DM i hope you will get your oath soon not like everyone here
My file was originally being processed in MTL, but then I moved to Vancouver and the file was transferred to the Surrey office after I took my test.

Sure, I can share info on the quote. Normally for taking care of a citizenship file and doing this, they would charge around $3500. However, since the application is ongoing, there would be an extra $1000 fee to "review" the file and make sure everything was ok before bringing forward the affidavit and the request to IRCC.

Before the pandemic I used to work as an engineer. Now, I am a PhD student... $4500 is definitely steep for me and would impact my budget significantly.

Congratulations @Macarad .. We're still waiting for ours...
I am terribly sorry, and I understand all to well, unfortunately =(

We are all just stats to them.... while pushing a narrative of an agency that 'cares'. I am so looking forward to being done with IRCC and not having to deal with them ever again (except for passports.....) .

Have you tried getting media attention? It feels that every couple of weeks I see a new story being published on this (CTV news, CBC, Radio Canada, etc.)

Hi

Just checked online, my oath ceremony has been scheduled for 20th April. But haven’t receive any email or letter of invitation. Will it be in-person or online? One more thing want to ask that, is it paid leave by government or it depends on employer?

Congrats. You will receive an email before a week or so. It's virtual on zoom. If it's paid, then it's paid by the employer. Check with your employer.

Am i the only one or somebody else too waiting for the oath ? because this is take it so long and so frustrated.
I'm waiting too.
Test completed Aug 02, 2021
Language and Prohibitions 22 Oct 2021
Physical presence and DM 21 Mar 2022

The new "official" processing time was 27 months for 80% of the applications over the past 6 months. However, I think that waiting for oath is not considered there since I believe they stop counting when a decision is made on the file.

Two months ago 60,000 people were waiting for oath.

For the 2020-2021 fiscal year, 9% of citizenship applications were processed within service standards.

I have no idea what agents look at when they schedule oaths (is it the application date? the test date? DM? other considerations? a giant spinning wheel?). In any case, I think we've seen enough to say that it is not a "first in, first out" system. Looking at the spreadsheets in this forum, around 25% of the people who have an oath scheduled in the first half of April received an invite within 5 days of DM, 75% within 53 days, and the average was 43 days.
People receiving invites at the moment are scheduled for oath ceremonies in late april.
(can you tell that i spend maybe a little bit too much time thinking about this?? hehe)

Lol, i saw people in 2021 received their oath already, my friends who applied last year now are citizen as well while other timeline application has been backlog for so long. IMO those 2021 got it early because the officers choose the profile that they see first on their table!(Maybe)

Yes, of course =/

I do not remember exactly where I read it, but they basically openly admitted that newer files (particularly those submitted online) were being processed at the same time as some of the older paper-based applications, "testing the new system" or something like that. Many applicants from 2021 already became citizens months ago (as you can see from the spreadsheet tracker). Good for them.... sucks for us.

But yeah, good luck to IRCC convincing any applicant that they work on a "first in, first out" basis.

Applied Oct 2, 2019. Everything complete but the oath ceremony, which hasn't been scheduled yet. I've exhausted all my options: called my MP multiple times, messaged the media, CIC... nothing! My PR card expires this year and I don't know anymore what to do.
