In case you need your passport, I strongly urge you request for Urgent Processing. I have heard of some folks who had to wait ~4 weeks before they got their citizenship certificate.
Thank you!
With 2 unvaccinated little ones that would need to quarantine for 2 weeks before returning to daycare, I’m not going anywhere near the borders.:D

I'm not sure whether all BG checks are visible in GCMS. I ordered GCMS this summer, and the only thing that looks like a BG check dates back to Feb 2020. Nothing has a date around Feb 2021.
I recently ordered my notes, and haven't received them yet, but I know someone who ordered them before me and got them who said their second background check is visible on the notes. I am not sure if it appears for some only.

I was never asked for a fingerprint. Maybe it differs for people who need/need not submit fingerprints. Anyways, I don't know why only some applicants are asked for fingerprints.

The person I was talking about didn't receive FP request either. BG check expires after one year whether you did FPs or not. Maybe the officer decides what to put and what not to put in the notes.

Hello Folks,

I got an invite for oath to be held on Nov 27. I sent my application in October 2019, Mississauga and then my minor's son application was sent in December 2019. In the invite, his name or the application number is not mentioned. I replied to the email that I received for the oath , it came from CIC-Mississauga and I got a reply :
Your son’s application was submitted separately and it is being processed at the CPC-Sydney office. Please contact CPC-Sydney regarding your son’s application.

I then called IRCC and they said that because my son's a minor, his application is linked with mine and will be processed with me.

Anyone has any suggestions or thoughts as I am confused

Hmmm, i lean towards what Mississauga said.... If the applications were not submitted together, i think it makes sense that they would be processed separately. i do not remember where i read it but someone mentioned that their application had been processed initially at Sydney and only the final stages were sent to the local IRCC office. Since minors (depending on the age) do not need to pass the test, maybe the whole application is processed over there.

Then again, who knows.... IRCC does a lot of weird stuff. Have you tried contacting the CPC-Sydney?

Hi Macarad,

Thanks for replying. I actually called several times before I got the oath invite and they mentioned that his application is linked to mine and will be processed together. However CIC Mississauga says a different story.

What is the best and fastest way to contact CPC Sydney ? Can you give me their contact details please as my oath is not too far.

Btw, my son is 10 years old

Thanks

Unfortunately, I do not have the contact info =/ ... The emails of the different offices are not listed, and you only see them if and when they contact you directly.

Sorry i cant be of more help

No problems , However during the time of oath, will they say if my son is included in the application or not ? Because if they don't then I don't want to cut my son's PR card without any reason
