I only sent in 6 pics. I'm assuming between 7 yrs of marriage, both American citizens, many joint bank accounts and a 6 yr old child, we should be ok. I focused more on our intent to reside. Which now I fear I may have fallen short on :-/

Saria1, what kind of info did you include to prove your intent to reside? I'm a little worried as well that I didn't include enough. We've been in a relationship for 7 years, lived together for 6 (exclusively outside of Canada), married for 2 and have a 3yr old son. I just included a letter from family saying we can stay with them when we arrive and a copy of an email conversation I had with a head hunter explaining that I'll be relocating and looking for employment.. I don't know if that was enough although seriously, why would anyone go through this lengthy and costly process if they didn't intend on moving back to Canada?!

Okay, I'm off the phone with CIC. Oddly, my application was assigned to the Ottawa office (as it should be, since I currently reside in Canada), so there was no obvious explanation for why I received the inland sponsorship AOR. The nice agent marked the application for a follow-up from CIC, and said that I should call back if I haven't heard by the end of the month.

As a followup to my own message, I've contacted CIC again. The agent noted that my AOR which said "in-Canada" class was consistent with their file, but that after I called on November 19th a note was added regarding the incorrect classification. This was received and processed on the 28th, at which point my application was properly filed as outland. This should not in theory affect processing times, as the sorting time for sponsorship approval is allegedly by date of original receipt; my sponsor can follow up with Mississauga after the application processing time guideline notes applications post-October 23 (the noted receipt date) being processed.

With this information, I'm unclear as to how precisely the prior agent saw it had been assigned to or marked for Ottawa.

This suggests that anyone who received an AOR that improperly said "in-Canada" should promptly contact the CIC call centre. It seems unlikely that CIC would have noticed the error on its own until the file was erroneously opened as an in-Canada class application, after some absurd number of months.

I didn't quite understand the part about oct 23 being processed, please explain.

I will be shocked if we have SA by the 15th. I'm thinking it won't happen until after the New Year. With the Holidays and all the saved up vacation that has to be used or they lose it. I know most professional work places around here become ghost towns the last week of the year.

Apparently, or hopefully, I'll go to Ottawa, so I think that is just a few days. They won't be able to do much with us until the FBI report arrives, and I'm not expecting that until early Feb. As for you, I'm not sure of the timeline to New Delhi.

When did you send your FBI inquiry if you do not mind me asking?

I sent in an email string of communication with a realtor, a short email string with the school board asking for info, an email string with the MP in the town we want to move to, which was focused on my proof of citizenship with quite a bit mentioned about the dept I was sent to was going to seriously delay our move to BC, an email string with the Director of CIC in Sydney explaining my intent to move to Canada and the need for a rush on my proof, proof of my husbands company to show potential employment, along with an email string with a prospective employer for a remote position for my husband. Then in the box on the application where it asked to explain our intent I wrote once we land we'll list our home and if it doesn't sell in a reasonable time we will have to rent it out and move and reiterated the work situation. In the mean time, I need to collect more proof, I bet they'll ask for more.

When did you send your FBI inquiry if you do not mind me asking?

My FBI report went into queue on Oct 22nd. About 6 days before my application joined the CIC queue for sponsorship approval.

Funny thing is, Canada Post had listed my application as delivered on Oct 10th, but CIC received it the same day I sent it, which is Oct 8th. Hope to hear something good this week!

Hi everyone, I mailed my application Sept 3 by regular mail so I assumed that it was delivered after 4-7 days. I received an email on October 18 requesting for the updated form so I mailed the requested form October 27 via priority mail and delivered it the day after. So i guess I will be an October applicant same as you guys. I haven't heard anything from them since I've sent the form even a confirmation that they received it. By the way my application is an Outland.
