Hey Guys,

I just spoke to an CIC agent. The quickest way to reach an agent is to call right before 8AM and then press 2-1-1-0, the wait time is usually 2mins.

I had called asking for my application; the answer was there is no update since they are working on files received Oct 5th and I should call back in two to three weeks.

They work during the holidays, they are closed only on the 25,26 and the 1st.

Yeah, the letter itself was from Sydney, but the email the letter was attached to came from Mississauga. I sent my PPR documents to Ottawa.

So I'm assuming then that you already live in Vancouver? Such great news for you.

Thanks for the update draxz1289! That's what they told me yesterday too, I guess they won't give out any other info than what is on the site which I do hope they update by Monday at the latest. SUCH great news that they are working over the holidays though it will very likely be reduced staff. I just feel it means we can hope that the processing times for SA are only delayed slightly.

Thanks for the info Draxz, it's good to know that they won't be shutting down completely! I'm really hoping for some good news as I'm on day 62 and haven't even got AOR!

Just a reminder to all those wondering when they will receive SA.

My application arrived at Mississauga on September 19th 2014. After about 42 days I gave them a call. On the website when I called them it said they were working on applications from September 15th, however an hour after I called them I had sponsor approval.

This was not because I called them (I didn't give any personal info for them to look up my file).

Bottom line is they are always slightly ahead of what is on the website.

But it says 53 days and it's already been 62 for me! :(
I keep thinking something is wrong with my application.
I'm going crazy wondering if my husband or I made a mistake somewhere!!

You need to stop over thinking the process and just let it happen. Whether you're approved or not, you will be notified. Look at the timeframe for Oct applicants, we're all over the charts, one person took 74 days to get SA`.

74
69
57
61
64
56
62
56
30
31

So relax, have some fun conversation and know we're all here stressing and waiting with you. ;)

When I went over the time provided on CIC website, I called them and got hold of a very nice agent. He was able to give me an AOR over the phone.

Good news this morning!
I got SA! Yay! My file has been transferred to my visa office.
Good things are coming for us! :)

Have a great day everyone!

No no don't worry, I've been waiting longer than u

@newgirl1 You've been waiting for longer!!! :o I hope you get SA soon! I'm praying really hard for all of us! Especially those who have had to wait for longer than the time duration they've given!

@draxz1289 Yes, my husband had called them and they told him to wait for two weeks last week.. He pushed a little harder but they just said they can't give him any more info. He would have to wait two weeks and that CIC would contact him this week or next. ???

@saria1 You're so sweet! :-* Thank you for your kind words. I know it's no point stressing, but it's such a long and tedious process! Thank God for this forum and kind people like you & all the others! Hope your SA comes soon!

@warzo I'm going to ask my husband to try one more time, maybe he might speak to the same agent that you spoke to! ;) *fingers crossed*

@awmf2014 Congratulations!! So happy for you!! :-*

Thanks for the support and encouraging words everyone, it gives me great comfort knowing that we are all in the same boat and staying positive and smiling through the suffering of being apart from the one you love!

It'll all be worth it when we get our PRs. :-*
