Wanted to share the good news, I received medical request for me and my family today morning .

My details are as under:
App. Filed.......: 19-10-2012
App. Received.: 24-10-2012
AOR Received.: 11-12-2012
Medical Request: 14-06-2013
NOC Code........ : 2173

Congrats..that's good news...looks like things have been moving...so strike discussion may not have after all impacted the application processing

I got a reply back from CIC, saying my application is in progress and nothing for me to do at this time. I hate answers like that. I hope I get my medical request soon.

I don't think order matters much. There are August 2012 and earlier applicants still waiting for MR while some April 2013 applicants have got their MR.

You're right. But I wonder why CNT it be by order of submission. Just wondering.

It's simple. Different applications take longer to process... It wouldn't make sense to hold everyone else up while one application was stuck? Criminality/security/background - who knows... Everyone likes to think it's random as it allows them to be angry. Fact is their is method to how apps are processed and some applications will be processed quicker than others...

True, but people that applied in 2013 have been waiting for one or two months and they get medical requests, and we have been waiting for more than 6? doesn't make sense we are going through the same process.

If you have seen the news at all over the last 12 months you will know they are looking to improve the system. They have a lot of applications to process and maybe to them it doesn't make sense to add all of 2013 onto the end of 2012 as their will always be a delay... Instead they may be looking to process some of 2013 alongside 2012 in the hope of reducing wait times overall...

We are all speculating and it's pointless. They are doing what they think will be best long term.

To second that, except it's through PNP, then its usually faster than others. The period BTW Oct n march is just to far apart... For march applicant to receive anything before Oct applicants. I wish to know the process. Anyways.. Just saying.

Yeah i know, we were suppose to be of the first to benefit from these changes. It doesn't really bother me I'm patient, but all we can do anyways is wait.

jsm your views are based on your good experience. I am Oct '12 CEC applicant with good experience i.e. got medicals.
I also have a Apr 2010 FSW application on which I am waiting on PPR. There are FSW applicants who applied a month after me and have a PR.

Their processing time IS random for many reason. One example could be that one officer could be slower than other.

If you are ahead in queuue, thousands of ppl behind in the same category shouldnt be alowed to sneak-in in front of you.


Problem is that there seems to be nothing like a queue.

No, my opinion is based on facts. Opinions like "problem is that there seems to be nothing like a queue" is born solely out of frustration and doesn't help people on the forms. The idea that one slow visa officer would cause a 6 month delay for an application is nonsense. The files are opened, reviewed, something has to happen and it gets queued again. I'm not saying the system is perfect, far from it, but everyone needs to hang in and wait. Extensive delays are not just the result of a VO being slow, it's more likely the result of criminality/background/security checks. It would make no sense to hold up all other apps while the VO waits for the results of checks - so they move on.

CPP-O was a pilot not that long ago and apps prior to that had to wait while other apps were processed quicker. It didn't mean that their was no order to how things were happening - their was. It was just happening simultaneously.

We all need to relax a bit and let the process take it's course - everyone moaning about how processing occurs is pointless - it's not going to change things.
