Occupation is changed when my PR application is under process

Hi,
My PR application(CEC) is under process and recently I have changed my employer and occupation as well. currently I am on Open work permit and I am eligible to do any work. in the AOR email it was mentioned that I need to update CIC regarding employer or occupation change. I don't know how it is relevant to application which is already in process. does changing occupation impact existing application in any way?. I am just wondering why CIC is asking for that?. I really appreciate if some one can answer.

Mate, there are various reason why CIC wishes you to provide this update.

One is that they might wish to confirm your current employment and if they call the "current" employer which will end up being not, suspicion might ensue thus potentially resulting in a delay.

It is not a big issue and if I were you I would simply forward CIC an email advising them of the new employment details - Employer, Position, Salary, etc

yeah, what about this situation:
I applied for moth CEC in August 14. and PNP in Jan 15.
I got BOWP based on CEC AOR but PNP application seem to being processed quicker.
Now, If i wanna quit my current job and get one in different occupation from what I got nominated under PNP does it mater or not? Since I got Open work permit with no restrictions based on CEC app?
