obtaining private health insurance for a working holiday visa with pre-existing conditions?

Hi Everyone,

I am having alot of issues trying to obtain a 2 year health insurance plan for my IeC working holiday visa with my pre-existing conditions including having a kidney transplant back in June 2008 and hypertension issues. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and somehow managed to get insurance with simiar issues? Thanks.

I would work with an insurance agent in Canada who has knowledge of different private insurance plans and can recommend what your options are with an existing condition.

IMO the challenge that you may face is that your transplant was quite some time ago and you're starting to get into the range where the life expectancy of your transplant may be winding down. So that will make your insurance premiums higher and may make the number of options available more limited.
