Obtaining PR for spouse

Hi everyone,

I have question regarding PR application to include my spouse

I am on an open work permit working here in Ontario, I have PNP and I have applied for my PR which is in processing status right now, I have not received medical request yet. So my fiance' has visitor visa and is visiting me right now and we are planning to get married here in Ontario itself, so my question is how can I add her to my PR application? and how will it affect my application in terms of time and approval? Can I even apply for an open work permit for her?

If your job is skilled and you can prove it with a letter showing job duties of a skilled job, you can apply for a work permit for your spouse based on that.

In order to add your spouse to your PR application, you have to go through the whole application package again changing all forms that mention your spouse and adding forms that your spouse would fill out. Once you are married and have the marriage certificate, you send that in with the updated and new forms and a cover letter saying you are now married and want to update your status and add your wife.
