Is there any way to get a copy of everything that I sent to CPC-M? Not just the forms, but also the pictures, receipts, etc?

Yes, but I'll need to find the link for you.

You can request a digital copy, or hard copies. Obviously the digital copy will be substantially faster.

isn't it done through the same portal where we order gcms notes from? i think the only difference is that instead of selecting "electronic notes" (gcms notes), we have to select "the application, supporting documents and correspondences sent to and/or from the ircc".

no prob.

also does anyone know whether requesting a copy of the app incurs a delay? i read somewhere that they need to pull the physical file out and scan it, but i'm guessing CPC-M has already scanned the full application before transferring it to an overseas VO.

The creation of electronic files occurs at the very start of the process.

by electronic files, are you referring to gcms or the scanned copies that ser5600 wants?

From IP8 (Inland sponsorship):

An initial process occurs on receipt of every application, including those involving Quebec
applicants. This process includes information gathering, record creation and administrative steps
to ensure that initial evaluation can begin. This process includes, among others, the following
steps:

verification for completeness;

return to sponsor, if application is not complete, or acceptance by date stamp receipt;

creation of both a paper and electronic file;

acknowledgement of receipt of the application;

request for any supporting documents or information that may be missing;

verification, and possible printing of the GCMS record; and

electronic transfer of biodata to CPIC

It would seem logical that this initial phase would also apply to outland applicants, but...

i agree; it's likely that the same process would apply to outland applicants, but i'm just unsure of what they mean by "electronic file" and whether it includes scanned copies of whatever the applicant submitted to CPC-M. i'm kind of intrigued by this and will probably order a copy for myself once they get around to finalizing my wife's app.
