Hello, I am in canada now and would like to get PCC in india. Is it mandatory to present original passport or copy of it is sufficient to obtain the PCC through an agent???

Originals are essential. I think you can get Indian PCC from the embassy in Canada. And I wouldnt suggest taking an agent's route because for PCC you have to be present yourself.

You can apply at your nearest Indian embassy or consulate.

Yes you have to give your passport as they stamp the PCC on it. Apply through an Indian mission abroad

In my case, my wife got PCC in india on 31.01.2017 and left to canada on 22.02.2017. CIC is clearly mentioned that the PCC is valid for 6 months if it is issued before leaving the country. Hence, I used the same PCC in my application package. I got AOR on March 3, 2017. Am I under the risk of getting rejected because of the reason PCC is not issued after her last visit? I am worrying about it..

Those 22 days put you at a risk of rejection

CIC mentioned that PCC is valid for 6 months if it is obtained before leaving the country according to the following link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

Which one is true?

If you are outside home country, you should get PCC only from embassy. At least that's what CIC requirements say. There is a thread in this very forum on getting Indian PCC in one day from Toronto embassy.

India was your wife's current country. You had not yet submitted eAPR and she left India to go to Canada. If she had submitted eAPR and then left, it would be fine.

I got AOR on March 3, 2017 with my wife's old PCC issued on Jan 31, 2017. She left to canada on Feb 22, 2017.. This is my case.

If you have not submitted your application yet, get new PCC from Indian Embassy in Canada.
This is the safest option.

Since your AOR date if after the your wife left, the current PCC wont do.

I got my PCC in November 2016 for UK and India. My AOR date is 29th March. After AOR I can go wherever I want. I made sure I never left the country between PCC and AOR dates.
