Guys,

I have my oath this week in Calgary. Today i got a ticket for driving my car with an expired registration under 52 1 a section operating a unregistred motor vehicle. I did not notice the registration at all as i rarely use my vehicle and got ticketed. I dont think this is a criminal offence. But just want to ask the experts here... do i need to declare this on the oath day? does it causes any prohibition for taking oath?

No. Traffic citations are not considered criminal offences.

Suggest early morning to Service centre pay the fine and renew your registration if
any issue with the registration they will guide you and you will be fine.. walk to the oath
and become Canadian Citizens congratulation... Traffic violation is not a crime..

the problem is all registries are closed today.....and dont know wht to do? doi need to tell the CIC people abou tthis or no?

Don't worry about the ticket and don't have to mention it either. It not a criminal act, it is a traffic violation. Also you can register/renew your vehicle online and pay the fine online too. If you register your vehicle within days of ticket and if you plead not guilty and explain your situation to judge and tell him you never received reminder mail about registration expiry date and you don't drive often judge will toss the ticket.

poushi,

If i pay online and drive my car today and a cop stops...what is the proof i payed and renewed online

Print your receipt. That is the proof. It is very standard procedure.
