My parents are Canadian citizens, that are of Ukrainian descent.
In the spring, they had distant Ukrainian (nationals) relatives reach out to them, wanting to flee Ukraine.
My parents had agreed to take them into Canada, and have the relatives stay with them.
The only paperwork that's been filed/completed so far, has been completing/signing a letter of invitation, that's it.
No flights are booked, or anything.
Due to circumstances, my parents can no longer take them in, for a variety of very valid reasons.
What would be the next steps on this? Can you cancel/nullify a letter of invitation?
What if the family were to book the flights and just show up at my parents' address? Would my parents have any obligations?
Thanks so much!
