They won't return it.. if they require the AOM , you will be advised to submit one together with the passport during PPR . Don't worry ;D

I just submitted our app today. While browsing here, I came into a prob about not having AOM then I realize that we don't have it too. We submitted our cenomars tho which are dated a month before our wedding. Will this cause any delay of our application?

hello everyone! I would like to ask how do I get the Advisory on Marriages document? My husband and I were married here in Canada, so NSO would not have records of our union. I have always been single in the Philippines, so for me , will it be the same as the CENOMAR (certificate of no marriage)? just to prove to immigration that I have no previous marriages? Any reply would help..Thanks in advance!

Hi sis! I know matagal natong post nato pero magbakasali lang magask sau. Me and my hubby was arguing about the AOM thing! He doesn't know about it, me neither then nalaman ko lang na this is like CENOMAR. Ask ko lang sau naging experience mo nung nagkaPPR ka or anytime during the processing of your papers, may natanggap ka bang call/email or kahit anu na hinihingan ka ng Advisory of Marriage? How was your experience? kasi I'm pretty sure kung meron man kulang sa naisubmit namin ng hubby ko, un eh ang AOM namin. Pwede mo ba iemail sakin kung meron man sila sinabi sau regarding dito? Thanks in advance sis!

They requested an AOM from us as part of the additional documents request that came with our PPR. I submitted a CENOMAR originally like you did.

edit: Just noticed the date i guess you got this taken care of hehe.

No prob on our app sis, during the PPR, they did not even ask for it altho we just sent it anyway just in case they just forgot about it.
Better just request now from NSO and during the PPR, you can just submit it together with the passport.

PSA Advisory on Marriages

Hi! Just want to ask what is a PSA Advisory on Marriages for myself is? I got an email from the embassy saying: In order to continue processing your application, we require the following information and/or documents:
 Original PSA Advisory on Marriages for yourself

Is this the same as CENOMAR? But CENOMAR is certificate of no marriage, I'm married already so how do I request for AOM?

Hi. Especially for Filipinos, yes. It's under the original documents they request along with Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, and CENOMAR.

Cenomar is for people who have never been married.
Advisory on Marriage is for married people.

Right now, NSO's name has been officially changed to PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority).

Thank you so much sa response :)

Just for clarification, AOM is for married filipino, what about filipino who's status is divorced? Do still need to request for AOM?

Re: AOM is for Married Filipino
Correct.

Re: Divorced Status
Where did you obtain the divorced status? Because there is no divorce in the Philippines, only legal separation and annulment. If you have divorced and married abroad, by law, your marriage (if you ever married in the PH) will still appear on the AOM, if that is your concern.

If you are now divorced, and CIC is asking for your AOM, you have to still get it and just present your divorce papers from abroad. If your marriage (in the PH) ended in divorce (abroad), you have to present termination of the marriage like the foreign divorce decree.

I know this for a fact because my father's status is Divorced abroad (USA) and still married here in the Philippines. However, I am no expert and this shouldn't be taken as legal advice. Thank you.

A photocopy of divorce certificate was attached in the application, and you're right, married in the PH and filed the divorce in US. So most likely, AOM should still be submitted. Thanks for your response, very informative. :D :D :D
