I didn’t receive any updates from last year
No PR for me yet.
I was contacted on July 10 and asked to provide the remaining amount for my Right to Permanent Residency Fee (I had been 200% sure that I had paid that in full upfront, but I wasn't gonna fight them on it). So I paid the amount they request ($85) immediately, and they acknowledged the payment was received on July 13. That's my latest update. I'm currently just waiting on P1/Final Decision. Hoping I'll get that in the next couple of weeks based on others' timelines c:

The update on the ircc website for processing time indicates there’s about 800 people in front of me and final decision will still take about 2 months.
Status updated in GCKey to Final Decision on October 23. Background check completed and COPR Expiry Date received on October 24. Portal 1 received October 30.

I am so glad to hear that my journey through this and the information/insights I've provided in this forum has been a help to others. I haven't crossed the finish line just yet -- the Portal1 email states that the application is "ready for finalization", not approved yet. From my understanding, you're technically not approved for PR until after you receive the Portal 2 email.
Would hate to trip right here at the finish line ^^;;
An update from my end - my background verification was marked complete in the tracker on Friday (December 5th) and on Monday I received an email from IRCC with the Virtual Landing Request. I responded right away but I'm still waiting on them to email back with the invitation to set up the portal. I did notice that in the tracker I now have a COPR number assigned but my gkey account still says "final decision in progress." Almost there and trying to be patient!
Wow!! So we're at the same stage now (The Virtual Landing Request Letter is the P1)!! Just waiting on that P2 ^^
Is getting the email to set up the portal P2 then? Also - does you gkey say that you've received a FD? Mine still says "in progress" although in the tracker everything is marked complete. You've been waiting on P2 for a while - I bet you get it before Christmas.
Yup, the email for setting up the portal is P2! My GCKey says final decision is in progress with all other categories marked as complete in the PR Tracker.
I really hope I get P2 soon... my Work Permit expires at the end of January >.< This is currently week 6 waiting on P2. I've reached out to IRCC via web form to make sure they have the info and that my P2 isn't being delayed because my response to the P1got lost or overlooked in their inbox. So I know for sure that they have the information from me. It's just a matter of making sure my application isn't stuck. I'm just waiting and trying to be patient, but everything had gone very smoothly until now. So the delays right here at the end are giving me so much anxiety lol
Ahh, very helpful to know. I'm so sorry you've been waiting 6 weeks, that's really frustrating. It's so strange seeing how some people move from P1 to P2 in a few days while others take months...hopefully it comes by Christmas! I'm travelling over the holidays so I'm hoping my timing works so that P2 happens in Jan some time (but my work permit has been extended through 2027).
I received the email this afternoon from IRCC telling me they'd created a new case in my permanent residency portal account. I logged in and confirmed my physical presence in Canada and uploaded a photo. Now I'm just worried that I'm going to get ECORP while I'm travelling over Christmas (I leave on Christmas Eve so I either need the physical card or arrive in the next 13 days or after Jan 7th....)
Just to kinda share where my application is at currently...
Current Status: P1 (Virtual Landing Letter) Received. Waiting on P2 for 6 weeks.
Oct 30, 2025: Portal 1 email received from IRCC.
Nov 1, 2025: I sent my response via email to the inbox indicated in IRCC's letter.
Nov 9, 2025: I sent a follow-up email to IRCC with corrections to my initial response.
Nov 28, 2025: I sent a Web Form to IRCC with these details and the message (I have not yet received a Portal 2 email from IRCC or any other communication with further instructions.)
Dec 4, 2025: IRCC confirmed the Web Form info I provided had been verified, but indicated my file couldn't be accessed without further details submitted via Web Form. Per IRCC's request, I submitted IRCC's Portal 1 Prompt pdf, my initial Portal 1 email response, and a Letter of Explanation with my corrections via Web Form. I included the following message (Please confirm receipt of the Portal 1 information to me, so that I know to keep an eye on my inbox for the Portal 2 email.)
Dec 8, 2025: IRCC confirmed my documents via Web Form were received and added to my file and that the info provided would be given review and consultation by an agent, but any questions included would have to be resubmitted via Web Form as a new inquiry.
Dec 12, 2025: IRCC responded thusly to my inquiry, "We have verified the information you provided and have forwarded your request to the responsible office. Please be assured that we understand how important this process is to you and that we are making every effort to finalize your application as quickly as possible. We will inform you as soon as a decision is made or if further information is required."
So... at a minimum, it's been confirmed the Mississauga VO/CPC has my P1 information (Twice. Once from me via email [because I received the automated response email], and again from the info being forwarded internally from the Web Form agents). I'm hoping that this means I can expect the P2 to arrive maybe next week if they're trying to drain the backlog as much as possible before the holidays.
Which means my eCOPR probably won't arrive until sometime in Jan 2026 -- cutting it REAL close to my Work Permit expiry (Jan 28, 2026), which is super stressful. Knowing they HAVE it, though, relieves -- at least -- a little bit of the concern. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll expedite it now? But at this point, all there is to do is wait -- which I've done plenty of throughout this process lol, so I'm no stranger to that X'D

Are you flying or travelling by vehicle through a land POE? If by land, you would be ok to return just showing them the eCOPR document -- which you should receive probably in the next week or two (would hopefully be before they all leave for holiday) since you submitted your P2 details today.
