I paid all in advance.
If you paid only 75 cad it is not enough.
You needed to pay Principal applicant fee of 475 cad as well
You can pay rest 490 cad later, but most people pay in advance to avoid delays.

I have a question, can someone please advise regarding it:

-Can the principle applicant (person being sponsored that is) travel outside their country for study purposes for around 6 months during the time their sponsorship application is in process?

-Also, is it possible to extend the visa for 6 months more from the time of medical to accommodate someone who is finishing their studies and needs a little bit more time to wrap things up?

-if the visa does get extended, does that anyhow interfere with the sponsorship process other then lengthening it pass the medical time.

I paid the entire fee of $1040 upfront. I wasn't even aware that there was a $75 fee. Sorry I couldn't offer much help on this one

I'm new here, but have come to this site at various points to look for answers and some much-needed solidarity. I've finally decided that's time to join in!

I've noticed the wide range of outland processing timeframes throughout the thread. I'm wondering if anyone has a similar situation to my wife and I?

Application was received 12 Nov 2015
AOR was received 6 January 2016
SA was received 15 January 2016

Here's where it gets funny. Based on my wife's nationality, we understood that her PR application was to be sent to Manilla for outland processing. Instead, it was sent to CPC Ottawa. Has this happened to anyone else?

After I received "SA", our Ecas updates have been less than informative.

Even though I received the email saying that I've been approved as sponsor, Ecas still says that my Sponsorship App is "IN PROCESS". Does that ever get updated?

Also, my wife's PR Application has switched over to "IN PROCESS" the main Ecas screen, but when I click on the application it only has ONE line saying that "we received ..... application for permanent residency on 12 Nov 2015". It doesn't say anything else (no word about medicals received, nor anything about the app being "in process"). We did medicals upfront.

Is CPC Ottawa just bad at updating things? Or should we be worried about a misplaced application?

We are pretty much identical in terms of AOR/SA and ecas status and we are through the Ottawa office so I wouldn't worry yet

I'm pretty much 5 days behind you both and appear to be in exactly the same status, including being "in progress" but only having one line under permanent residence status.

I just wanted to clarify some things that I am unsure about. If anyone could answer that, I would really appreciate it.

Under my spouses PR section it now reads...
1. Application was received on November ...........
2. We Started processing your application on January 29 2015.

Does this mean I am part of the old process or new... and also does this mean they are checking out the file now (my spouses medicals are also in that file-original papers). Should I expect to see the third line soon or noÉ

As suggested, I tried using my payment receipt number to check status on eCas but it found nothing.

Q. Does eCas show status after documents received, or only after processing begins?

It shows after they've begun processing. But a few days after. Like for me, I never got AOR, but yesterday eCas let me on for the first time with my receipt number and said they started on Jan 26. You used the sponsor's info right?

I was never able to log in to ECAS with my receipt number... if they have already passed the allotted time, your best bet is to call CIC and make sure the application is in the system...

From experience, CIC took forever to review my file... I got my AOR at day 80 when the processing time was 69 days...

76 days and still no S.A. Called again yesterday and the agent was like oh, you called last week, you just gotta wait. Really p**d off.
