I figured better safe then sorry and included our entire chat history, at something around size 8 font it was 600 pages long.

Poor visa officer! ;)

I can't say I personally would have included every page of our chats, or the visa officer would have to sort through some pretty inappropriate material lol.

No AOR for us today.. But our honeymoon resort down in FL is gorgeous so that helps XD still worried about getting back into Canada without AOR but there's always tomorrow.. And maybe Saturday.. Lawl.

Haha.. Reading all you summaries I am realising we didn't put that much proof then. Lets see if they request more :)

Hi everyone, I sent my application on November 24, they received it on November 25, I think it's been 65 days now so starting to get a bit nervous...I know it was received though because a week later they sent me back my husband's passport and said they had made a photocopy of it and didn't need the original...I'm glad I found this forum, it's so nice to see some actual processing times to help get an idea!

Wow, you send original :)
You lucky they actualy returned it :)

I wouldn't worry too much, I think most of us went pretty overboard. Better safe than sorry.

Hello,
I have some questions regarding my recent application. I sent my partners application on Oct 24th from Australia express post (it was supposed to take 3-5 days and I was under the impression I would be able to track it, but I couldn't so I can't be sure when it actually arrived in Mississauga) and only last week (Jan 22) recieved confirmation that it had been recieved on Nov 24. Looking through this thread, it seems like they usually acknowledge receipt of the appliations quite quickly, even if they don't send email confirmation until much later. Does the month between me sending the application and them recieving seem like a long time or is that normal?
Also, when should I be able to track the application online? I have our UCI number but when I check online they say they are not able to identify me.
Feeling a bit concerned that we're already on the slow end of this process :(

You will be able to check ECAS usually 3-5 days after receiving your AOR. I got confirmation on the 8th and couldn't log in until the 12th so don't worry :)

That does seem like an unusually long period of time. I read another case on the forum where the package was held up in customs for a number of weeks, so it's entirely possible, and unfortunate, that that happened with your package as well.

Also, when should I be able to track the application online? I have our UCI number but when I check online they say they are not able to identify me.

As mentioned, expect 3-5 days (mine took a whole week actually).

Edit:

To add to that; after receiving AOR I was able to login with my wife's (primary applicant) information, and only after receiving the SA was I able to use mine (sponsor) information to login to eCAS.

Hey Guys,

We just found out today that my Canadian common-law partner has been approved to sponsor me and my application is now 'in process'...yippe. However, we were hoping that my application would have been sent to the Sydney Australian Office (I'm Australian) because they are processing applications super fast and I'm under a bit of a time crunch, but we were informed that the application is being processed in Ottawa. Does anyone know how long they are taking in Ottawa to process the outland visas?

Thanks!

They no longer provide country specific times. All outland applications show as 17 months on CIC website which is a joke

We don't get any sort of acknowledgement until AOR, which takes a few months. The reason some of us know exact dates is because we did tracking. If you sent your package from Australia on Oct 24th and then CIC says they received it Nov 24th, maybe it was caught up in customs for a month?

Yup. That said I believe Ottawa is one of the faster VOs.

That's what I've heard so let's keep the faith

I'm hoping that it's faster. I'm going to try to call Ottawa and see if they can give me an idea of how long they take to process them...but I doubt they will help.

Thanks.
