Thank you DuberBlue. I am asking this everyone since I do not have a full time Job. Did u had a full time job when u sponsor and how much income you show it to them?

Please share if you can share these.

Thanks

Are you the sponsor or the applicant?
In my case, I was the sponsor, and I am employed, so I showed them proof of income (an Option C form which I got from Revenue Canada). Now I know it is often said on this forum that there is no true minimum income required to show CIC when you sponsor, but that they will look to see if you are on social assistance or are otherwise in a position where it is doubtful you would be able to support the applicant.

If you are the applicant, you can be unemployed. My wife was.

my sponsor was unemployed (was a student abroad and we moved to Canada once he was done studying), and didn't have a job lined up, and he was approved. If you can show that you have a plan (staying with family, making some minimum money etc.) to support yourself and your family without going on welfare, then it shouldn't be an issue.

Dear visiting_canada:

I believe all of Nashe_31's replies to your problem are good. As for this one:

I was told by an immigration lawyer that they want specifics about ALL travels outside Canada since birth (not just the times you RESIDED outside Canada). For instance I lived in Japan for 3 years, but I listed every time I had traveled to Japan as well as other countries, complete with dates, hotel addresses, and phone numbers. The lawyer approved of this. The lawyer also told me that one of her client's applications was sent back because he had been a bush pilot in northern Canada and one time had to camp in the wilderness in Alaska, and was unable to provide an address. The CIC requested the latitude/longitude coordinates of the place he camped. I found this a little unbelievable but it is exactly what I heard from the lawyer.
...what?
So, if i went to the U.K. to meet up with my friends from NYC last December, for 4 days, i have to note that as well? Are they out of their right minds???

Hey gersonjaijai,

Chill out. I have called CIC and confirmed again that we dont require to have income. As long as we are not receiving social assistance or anything, they are good to go.

End of October people are getting the AOR, hope we all get soon :)

Dont worry we are on the same board and we will get our life back soon.

Cheers

How many years of Option-C is required?

Angie
I went to Arizona for 2 days for my friend's wedding and the immigration lawyer requested that I write the dates of that visit, as well as the hotel address and telephone number. Seriously.

In regards to the income amount, I was also unemployed when we applied (have recently found employment) and the lawyer said it was fine, as long as I write that I have a plan and a support network. I showed them my savings, and asked my parents to write statutory declarations stating that they would financially support my wife and I - even though I would NEVER take any money from them. I supplied the Option-C printout for only the most recent tax year, as requested (2012). The lawyer said this was all fine. She said there was no minimum amount required unless the applicant and sponsor have children together.

Hope this helps.
