I have sent an eamil to CIC two weeks ago for an update on my application as my RPRF was still pending. Yesterday I got email from CIC to pay the RPRF in 30 days

Hi Guys,

I finally received the PPR for myself and my spouse. Please find my timeline below:

App received: November 21, 2013
MR: June 20
RPRF: June 23
Medicals completed: June 24
Medicals received: July 18
Decision Made: July 19
PPR: July 24

There is a note in the PPR email I need your input with:

Final Note
The issuance of your visa(s) cannot be delayed so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) as soon as possible. An expiration date (dd/mm/yy) will be indicated on your visa and/or on your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR – IMM 5688), and you must obtain permanent residence on or before that date. The visas and CoPR cannot be extended. If you are not prepared to live permanently in Canada immediately after your permanent residence is granted, please consult the CIC website regarding your obligations to retain your status in Canada.

I am driving to the US and need my passport to cross the borders; therefore, I won't be able to submit our passports before August 1.

Do you think this may cause a problem since they asked for our passports ASAP?

Thanks for your replies!

The CPR and visa will be valid for 12 months from the day you completed your medical exam. And you will
have to complete the landing before the visa and CPR expires.
If that gives you enough time, then you can send the passports when you come back from your trip.

Does that means, one should wait for the MR and then do the medical because if he/she got the approval just before few days of his/her medical expires then he/she may end up with tight timeline for landing. May be passport get delayed for any reason (like postal company mistake) and received after the CoPR expires. Hence, doing medical on MR will gives a plenty of time to land smoothly.

Correct! The earlier you undergo the medicals, the less time you have to complete the landing.
