Hello!

My Ecas updated to Medicals received after I sent my upfront medicals to their email, but the application status is still under application received, not in progress.

Is it a good sign that the status has been updated to medicals received? (like somebody is looking at my application now) or it is just because i sent the email?

I didnt get a medical request, i just sent the email upfront so i am wondering.

timelines:

app sent: 25 november
app received: 02 december
AOR: 19 january
status changed to medicals received: maybe 19 june?
still under app received.

Could I ask your responses about my situation... please..
APP received on 25 Nov. No MR yet.., but few days ago I received a call from CIC about my job duties (lady said job duties in reference letter seems to be copy-pasted).. After my conversation with VO she said "it will help me to make a decision". No response yet...
Last night I phoned to my former employer (I left CA over a year ago), told him that CIC wanted to know more details about my job experience in his company an so on. He was quiet happy to hear it, also he said that nobody did call him from CIC, but if someone will - he will confirm everything as well . After that, he said I am very welcome to come back to work in his company and he wants to help me as much as he can! I was very pleased to hear it, especially when I communicated with him so long time ago...
So, I would like to know what are you thinking about all fo this situation..? I am even thinking to ask my employer to write new one reference letter and I would email it to CIC on the beginning of next week..? Is it good idea to do it at this stage of process?

Here is my opinion.

You asked your employer for a reference letter asking him to mention the NOC code and some responsibilities and your duties. But your employer didn't have the time to properly write one, so he/she used the sample provided at the HSRDC website. Now, case processing officers look at the duties posted at the HSRDC website, but they shouldn't be more than 80% similar, approximately. That being said, it cannot and shouldn't be the 'same', just 'similar'.

This raised a red flag for the VO and he gave you a call about it. It's great to hear that your employer is wiling to help you, but if you submit another reference letter now, and it is vastly different than the original one, your application will surely be rejected. What I will recommend is to wait and see what happens with your application. If they decide that you are not eligible for the PR, they will give you 60 days to convince them that they should reconsider.

Yes, I would think so too. ECAS only gets updated after a case officer is viewing your file. But that does not mean processing has started yet. I would think that your ECAS will change to IN Process soon. But from what I have been seeing here, don't trust the ECAS updates. For e.g., couple of us got PPR with app in process, and no MR received. Others have there application on MR received for over 3 weeks.

That is the standard response time posted by others here at the forum when the case officer was not completely satisfied with the application. We are lucky that they are doing this now. Earlier it used to be straight rejection.

I do live in Toronto and planning to visit doctor Francis Li for doing medicals.

My son who is 2.5 years old, has bit of cough and cold.. Is it okay to do medicals now?
And also do they take X-Ray and blood test for kids too?

For your son, wait for him to feel better. Why take the extra risk? X Ray, and blood test for all applicants, except children below 11 years of age. But do confirm with the doctor.

"Complete physical examination for all family members;
chest X-ray and a radiologist’s report for everyone aged 11 years and over;
blood test for everyone aged 15 years or over;
urinalysis for everyone aged 5 years or over;
HIV testing for everyone aged 15 years or over, as well as for children who have received blood or blood products, or have a known HIV mother."



According to Medical Practitioner handbook, your son doesn't need to take X-Ray and blood test.
In my case, my daughter, who is 6 years old, also didn't take X-Ray and blood test.
