My status on Thursday last week was ‘Application Received' but on Friday it was changed to ‘Decision made'. When I clicked on it, it says:

We received your application to sponsor [NAME] on November 23, 2011.
We sent you a letter on January 24, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

I am still waiting for my approval letter. Hopefully I am going to get it on Monday. Fingers crossed.

Good luck to everyone.

This is exactly what my e-Cas says (different dates ofcourse). I chose to have my updates sent to me via email, hence, I got mine right away. Perhaps, you have yours setup via conventional mail, so your approval should be with you soon :)

Hi I wanted to ask how many more steps are left

- application received by CIC
- sponsor approved
- ?
- ?
- ?

also, is AOR the same as sponsor approval letter.

I received a letter stating I qualify as a sponsor and application has been sent to Buffalo.

What will happen after?

What timelines am I looking at? Does it really take 11 months? :-[

I hope so ps3playa. I can’t wait to see it.
I am a Canadian too sponsoring my wife in India. I don’t remember the option I chose. But I have got my AOR through email though.
I just checked my e-Cas and there is no change in the status.

Congrats! next steps are Passport request, then VISA (if no interview request) From what Ive been reading, some have separate AOR aside from sponsorship approval.

Thanks!

So if that email notified me of my number, confirmation of approval as a sponsor and indicated the file has been sent to Buffalo that would be my AOR?

im not so sure but some that receive AOR say it only states that their app has been received on a particular date. but hey, u have been approved already so don't fret =) maybe those who have received AOR can clarify? Ive seen several from the November spreadsheet who received AOR's.

Could be then.

I got my approval letter via email and it read if you received it via email you will not receive one via snail mail..

The AOR is when you get an email after sponsorship approval...most of the time the Spomsorship email goes to the sponsors email and then the AOR is sent to the applicants email....so your Sponsorship approval is not the same as your AOR....even though it is transferred right away..

Cheers

I just checked my e-Cas and there is no change in the status.

Form IMM 1344, page 2 Box 1 reads:
-all correspondence with go to this address, unless you indicate an e-mail address below
-indicating an email address will authorize all correspondence, including file and personal information, to be sent to the e-mail address you specify

So if you entered an email address for yourself in the application (and you probably did, since you got your AOR on it), CIC is only going to email you with updates/documents. This also means that your approval should have been emailed to you as a PDF. e-Cas would still read that we have sent you a letter as it is a generic status. So if you don't see the letter by Feb 4th, call them and ask. Also, check your junk folders and such.

yep ive heard of that too, once u select email, no more snail mail. Ive been reading December batch thread and some few people got AOR 3 weeks from filing , which is different from sponsorship approval.

Yes, I had included my email and I did receive a PDF version of the letter

I was wondering if that letter is what an AOR is if it states I qualify to sponsor and file has been sent to Buffalo.

Also, I checked the status online it has 2 hyperlinks.

1 reads: Sponsorship Application Status - Decision made
2 reads: Sponsor's - PR Application Status - File and medical received on Nov 24, 2011.

Does not indicate In Process or something. So the next step would be they either call for interview or something?

Thank you. I checked the copy of my application and yes I gave my email address for all the correspondances. I have been checking the junk mail folders as well. I will check my mails next week. If I don't get it, I will call them by end of next week.
