hi everyone,

I was wondering what do you guys mean by AOR?

Thank you in advance

Acknowledgment of Receipt = AOR , is a letter/email you would likely receive from CIC/Mississauga to inform you that your application has been received by CIC.

I think there's another one which you will get once your application is at the Visa Office (VO).

I have a question...to the ppl who got approvals, how were you notified of approval...by email???

Our lawyer just e-mailed us this morning and told us that our sponsorship was approved too!!! :D But I have no idea which day it took place, since our representative is going to mail us the confirmation letter and all the email said was that we got sponsorship approval. So that makes me think that CIC did not e-mail us our approval, but sent it out by mail. ;D ;D

@ Mrslwsn
My hubby got his approval by email from CIC Jan. 11, 2012 but he forwarded the email to me Jan. 13 the next day I checked our ECAS and I saw the (Sponsor) Decision Made from Application Received

Guys should I be worried? I'm the only one left without approval from the first week of November.
I keep thinking that I might have done something wrong :(

Ours was via email as well. I (sponsor) received it on Friday. My husband (applicant) didn't receive it. We never got a confirmation letter that they had our file.

No, you definitely shouldn't be worried. It's probably on its way in the post to you right now!
And anyway, you're still within the expected 74 days of processing time so I don't think it means anything that you haven't heard from them yet. If you still haven't heard anything in a few days then perhaps give the call centre a try for your own piece of mind?

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll hear something this week :)

To those who received their sponsor approval on Friday - has your eCAS been updated to reflect this? Mine still says the same thing under both parts - 'Application Received'.

I'm hoping it'll be updated on Monday!

Anyone else's still showing the same thing even after approval?

Thank you Louise86, I guess I just wait a few days and if I don't hear from them by then I'll give CIC a call.

Honestly, from what I have gathered from this thread and others, getting the Sponsor AOR is rare, and seems to really depend on the person processing the application. While yes, it would be nice to have a little hint that the application was received (I am in the same boat as you), it's nothing to be worried about if you don't get it. It doesn't mean the application isn't there or being worked on, so don't worry Sundae18, we too will get approval.

Though, it would be nice if there was some consistency in this process, ya know?

Yah thank you very well said.. But I can't. Help but to think of it.. :( I hope so that our approval mail is coming this week.. Let's keep our finger crossed!

Yay! eCAS has been updated to 'Decision Made' for sponsorship, and 'Medical Results have been received' for the Permanent Residence part. Anyone have any idea what this means and if it's a good sign?

Good luck to those waiting, I have a feeling tons of approvals will come rolling in this week!
