Hello Novemberians,

I was actually following another thread for November applicants until I fond this one. Would it be possible to unify both threads?

I filed my application on Nov 9 (confirmation of delivery by Canada Post on the 10th) and I still haven't heard from the CIC, while I see in the spreadsheet that people who have filed after me have received their acknowledgement of receipt before January. I wonder what e-mail address they will send it to, if mine or my husband's (my sponsor). How was it for you?

Also, back in November the processing time was estimated at 66 days - that is, until Jan 15 for me. Does anybody know whether I am allowed to call and ask for information if I haven't heard from them until then?

For info, my VO is Sao Paulo, Brazil. If you have heard of actual processing times for this VO, please inform me!

My husband and I used our shared email for the whole application, so I can't quite tell whether the acknowledgment is sent to the sponsor or applicant, however, our immigration consultant did say to us that it is the sponsor's application while in Canada and then becomes the applicant's when sent to the respective VO, so my guess is that it goes to the sponsor's email.

As others have said, these emails are sent out quite randomly, so while it is nice to receive it, you really shouldn't worry at all if you don't. Kinda like "the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence " . I have heard mixed stories about calling the office before your "time"...some have called and received confirmation over the phone, others have even received approval over the phone, yet some have been told "we don't know about your application", causing them to really freak out and panic, only to receive approval a few days later. I completely understand the desire to just confirm that everything is fine, so I won't tell you not to do it but...if you do, be prepared for any possible answer and don't let it get to you. Someone else reported that an IO told them that calling before your due date can hold up your application (strange right?!). It really is a mixed bag of sorts

I should try to stop thinking about it, but it's so hard to do when your life is on hold.

Would you mind changing my 'Application Received by CPC Mississauga' date on the spreadsheet to the 5th of November?

Our app was actually signed for by 'David' from the 'Mailroom' at 9:30am on the 2nd Nov, but my AOR email said that it was received on the 5th, so I suppose we ought to go by that date...

*Sigh* Oh well, it's only an extra 3 days!

On the plus side, it will have been 68 days for us next Thursday I believe, so not long to go now (I hope)! Our address is also now showing on eCas - I doubt that this means anything much but I'll take what I can get at this point!

I am also able to login to ecas today. I was wondering if anybody else has noticed the word "null" added in front of the name. Does it mean anything??
