Hi there,

for our common-law application, we have 2 notarized affidavits from my boyfriend's family members (he will be sponsoring me). We are considering a few friends to sign letters for us, is this OK if these letters will not be notarized?

Read your country specific guide. Ours asked for 2 notarized, and we included many other letters that were not notarized.

Thanks Steph C,

in mine it says "at least two statutory declarations from individuals with personal knowledge of your relationship supporting your claim that the relationship is genuine and continuing". So does that mean notarized?

t usually means a written statement declared to be true in the presence of an authorized witness or someone who can administer oaths. That sounds like the same as notarized to me.

Notarized affidavits: you'll need two. The others can be letters, emails, or affidavits. Affidavits are considered better evidence, but more than two are not necessary.
